"Are you Santa Claus?"
I heard a child say.
Hearing those awe-filled words
nearly broke my heart that day.

But the answer that came out
even more touched my heart...
"I want to be!" he said,
but that was only the start.

For in his arms came packages...
of gifts and clothes and food
for 'Pere Noel Michel'...
always knows what is really good.

He gives all that he can
to those he knows in need
He'll go the extra mile
to do a caring deed.

He seeks the help of others
to share in the joy of giving...
For he knows that what is important
is to help others have a better living.

He gives from his heart and pockets
and would clean his cupboard bare
if he knew others needed him...
he would surely and truly be there.

'Pere Noel Michel'
is a friend to all he knows
By his giving and caring and loving
His circle of family grows.

"Are you Santa Claus?"
they ask,
The answer is very clear...
"I want to be" are his words
'HE IS' is what we hear!
